TGL Industrial Services – Staffing Solutions is regularly seeking Open Pit Technicians for one of our clients located in Nunavut. Upon receiving your application, it will be reviewed, and you will be contacted if your profile matches the requirements.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform daily field surveys in the pit (boundaries, berms, slopes, work areas).
• Ensure that all work complies with mine plans and safety zones.
• Install and maintain signage, digging limits and ground markers.
• Conduct GPS/GNSS measurements and compile field data.
• Prepare daily reports and communicate relevant information to the teams.
• Monitor drilling, blasting, loading and hauling activities.
• Work with geologists to distinguish ore from waste and assist with block follow-up.
• Monitor post-blast areas and ensure all safety distances are respected.
• Identify and report any safety hazards or non-compliance issues.
• Participate in inspections, safety briefings, and meetings.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• College diploma in geology, mining, geomatics, mining technology or a related field.
• Experience in open-pit mining (strong asset).
• Experience with GPS/GNSS systems and mining or surveying software (Surpac, MineSight, Datamine, etc.).
• Ability to work in northern conditions (cold weather, isolation, long rotations).
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
• Good judgment regarding safety.
• Strong analytical skills and technical rigor.
• Autonomy, reliability, and effective communication with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to collaborate with geologists, supervisors, operators, and production teams.

• Variable schedules: 14/14 fly-in fly-out rotation.
